1. that disney moveis portray what it means to be a man as being extremely muscular and tough.
          I agree that that it is certainly a theme in the many of the movie for showing what masculinity is, for example Hercules, he is the hero of the story and he is defined by being super muscular. but you cannot be sure that the idea behind them is necessarily to promote the ideal person, like for Hercules being super strong is his thing, and it wasn't invented by disney. for beauty and the beast, how else could a man take on a beast unless he was extremely muscular.

2. that media creates an unrealistic ideal body type.
      im going to agree with this one, many times the models are photoshopped or just unhealthy.

3. that media is distorting every ones perception of reality
     i need to start by saying the little girl on the subway thing was really messed up. i think it is a very valid argument that the media is skewing out perception, but i also find it ironic that we also keep talking about the growing obesity epidemic, warning kids of all the bad things about being fat. which also makes me think that even media could be a cause of obesity, because if some one tries to be like the ideal, and fails and gives up entirely, that could lead them to obesity.
